Located in the heart of the Alentejo Coast, next to Santiago do Cacém, Herdade do Cebolal is a family project of 5 generations since 1880, managed by the producer and oenologist LuisLufinha Mota Capitão. The wines, in syntropic agriculture, are cultivated with a organic philosophy and the work in the cellar is done from a traditional and natural perspective. All the wines are vinified with their own yeasts, respecting the terroir of each variety and expressing the region’s potential to the maximum.
HERDADE DO CEBOLAL Red 2021 The property has been in the same family for over a century. The property’s vineyards are located on the Costa Vicentina, ten kilometers away from the atlantic coast. The mild climate with sunny days and cool nights influence the ripening of the grapes and the soils rich in schist and chalk confer unique characteristics to the wine. The vines have been tended carefully and minimal irrigation has been used in order to produce high quality grapes. The removal of leaves around the grapes bunches is necessary for better sun exposure and appropriate maturation.
